This was my first art piece and I wanted to make it memorable by illustrating one of the things I like the most in this world, fruit. I wanted to use charcoal, a material I've never once used before, because although it would hold many mistakes as my first art piece, I wanted to keep those imperfections as a reminder of my beginning. Entering it in the Scholastic Art Awards, I won the Gold Key award for this piece.
